About Kevin Cox

Kevin Cox, born in Carriacou, Grenada, is a former collegiate and professional basketball player whose deep passion and dedication to the game have defined his athletic and academic journey.


He competed for four years at the collegiate level in the United States. Freshman year at Seminole State College (NJCAA Dl) in Oklahoma, Sophomore year at Kingsborough Community College (NJCAA Dlll) in New York and both Junior & Senior year at the University of the District of Columbia (NCAA Division II) in Washington DC. He went on to play professionally for three years after graduating from college. He also played in the FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers in Suriname in 2018 as apart of Grenada's National Team, averaging 15.2 ppg 6.8 rpg 2.2 apg over the span of 6 games.


Before leaving his home country of Grenada, Kevin achieved remarkable success on the court. He was a 2x high school champion (2011 & 2012) and earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2012. As a member of Grenada’s National Under-20 WISG Team from 2011 to 2013, he helped secure championship titles in 2012 and 2013, while also being named MVP in both 2011 and 2013. His exceptional performances over the years earned him the title of Grenada National Basketball Player of the Year in 2011, 2013, and 2018. Kevin also distinguished himself as the Grenada Hoops Slam Dunk Champion, Three-Point Contest Champion, and All-Star Game MVP in 2015.


During his collegiate career in the US, Kevin continued to excel:


- CUNY Conference All-Star Team (2016–2017)

- Third Team All-Regional Selection (2016–2017)

- Scored over 1,000 career college points (2015 - 2019)

- Kingsborough Community College Coaches Award (2017)

- University of the District of Columbia Coaches Award (2019)
 

Kevin also demonstrated a strong commitment to academics. He holds an Associate Degree in Building Technology from T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Sustainability from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), where he graduated with Dean’s List Honors with a 3.48 GPA. In recognition of his excellence both on and off the court, he received the ECC Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award (2018–2019).


Following his collegiate career, Kevin played professionally for the Tri-State Admirals in New Jersey, USA and the West Coast Breeze in San Diego, USA in The Basketball League (TBL), as well as the DCU Saints in the Ireland Super League in Dublin, Ireland.


Today, leveraging his extensive experience and exposure at both the collegiate and professional levels, Kevin has transitioned from player to basketball trainer and player development coach, where he continues to share his knowledge, inspire athletes, and help shape the next generation of talent.
